Cara Kosie's Bio
I am a Mom of a 5 yr old son, Sheydon. Full time hairstylist, certified Personal Trainer, fitness instructor and volunteer fitness/cycle instructor at the Ymca.
I was born and raised in a small town, Red Lake, ONt. They gym there was very small and limited, but that never stopped me from working out! Step classes where the thing to do at the time leaving moderate time for weight training. I worked out to feel good about myself and socialize with my friends. I have always been involved in sports, and healthy eating has always been part of my life.
Moving to Niagara, has allowed me to be able to grow and become more knowledgable about the fitness world. I have become more involved in training, learning new ways to stay above that platoe we all hit and not hit boredom. Interval training, weight training, and cycling are all things that help keep me excited.
I have always had a dream to compete in a Figure Competition, buying magazines and wishing it was me on that cover. In 2008 I decided to set that goal stick to it and fulfil the dream i had. "to stand on stage and compete" I was turning 30 and i knew 'if I HAD to turn 30, then i wanted to look better then I did at 20!!! ' I feel now I have accomplished that :)
At this time I met with Darrin, at Emerge Fitness and realized how much my body still had to change.Learning that PROPER Nutrition, heavy weight training, and limited cardio would be the key. Diet is the most important part to any weight loss program. It is hard to stay dedicated and stick to a plan, but the end results are worth the determination and dedication.
Emerge Fitness, Team Emerge,and all my friends and family have all helped me stay positive and given me the inspiration and drive to push harder.
My advice to anyone is to set small realistic goals that you can achieve. Find a trainer, friend someone that can keep you going. All those desserts we give up are all worth it in the end. There is no better feeling then to have that body we've always desired.
