I would like to start by saying there is a right way and a wrong way to do everything. For some reason it just seems there are more wrong ways to diet than right. I am writing this for people that have grown tired of the constant yo-yo dieting that has done nothing for them but made them fatter and more depressed in the end. Let’s try and put an end to that chapter and turn the page on a new chapter, the one where you take control of your body image and health.
My experience with diets has always been for esthetic and not health reasons. Good health just seems to be a positive side effect of a good diet and exercise routine. I believe most people that diet today are doing so for esthetic reasons. Anyone I have ever talked to regarding their weight has commented on how they want to fit into a size 10 again or have that 30-inch waist back. Many people come up with the magic number “I just want to lose 17lbs”, all these requests are fine, it’s just a matter of finding out what diet is right for you to help you reach your goal.
You may have noticed I slipped in the word exercise, I am a big advocate of combining exercise with dieting. Not planning a proper resistance weight training program with your well planned diet is planning to fail. I believe that weight loss can be achieved by diet alone, but mainly fat loss is achieved when exercise is included.
No matter how well you stick to your diet and how much fat you lose you will not have the tone appearance you are looking for without exercising those muscles. Muscles are what give us the curves and clean lines that we are looking for. Actually some of you may be reading this mainly to find out how to increase your muscle mass through diet manipulation. Read on, all will be revealed.
We will discuss both fat loss and muscle gain, and everything in between.
