Nathalie Richard's Bio
I was born and raised in Montreal. Growing up I participated in ringuette for 8 years and ballet jazz for 12 years. My father was a hockey player so I was always involved in sports.
At the age of 21 years I was introduced to weight lifting and fell in love with this sport I was buying all these magazine and always wanted to look like these girls and maybe one day competing. Monica Brant was my role model and still is and I was wishing that one day I can look like her but I did not have the tools and the experience to know what to do or where to start so in 1999 I took my course at the YMCA and became a personal trainer and after 1 year I had the opportunity to meet and learn from such amazing people in this industry but there was something missing, someone that I can share my passion with and in 2001 I met my fiancé Ron and decided to move here in Ontario. Ron is my biggest fan and support I have been bless to meet someone like him who loves and shares the same passion as me, I am very honored to be where I am today.
In 2003 when I turned 30 I did my 1st competition in figure Level 1 and placed 2nd at that moment I felt for the 1st time that I can look like these women in the magazine. I competed for 2 more years and then in 2005 I got injured problem with my sciatica and had to put the training on hold but took almost 1 year off. When I decided to go back it was hard because of the weight that I gained and the muscles loss and not training for so long and seeing all my friends competing at the National Level I felt that I needed something to get me back on track so in December 2008 I decided to get ready for show for April 2009 and to be able to accomplish this I needed someone that had nutritional knowledge and knew about competing in a figure competition.
That is why I decided to join the TEAM EMERGE. Darrin change a lot of things that I though will never be possible especially when I was preparing for a show my cardio session was 45 to 1 hour per day 5 days /week and this was one thing that Darrin changed in my preparation for my show.
It was hard for me and I was scared that I will never be ready without CARDIO but with Darrin’s nutritional knowledge and experiences he made me realized that NO cardio was possible it’s all about what you eat and make the right choice. I felt great and was able to diet for 6 months and do 2 competition within 1 month something that I would never done before because I was so exhausted of all the cardio that I was doing. The food that I was able to eat I could not believe it and this is why it was easier for me to “DIET” this time. I recommend Darrin to anyone who would love to achieve their goals and live a healthier lifestyle and with Darrin I was able take my physique to the next level.
